Lynnwood Police Release Sketch of EdCC Stabbing Suspect

Police hope the drawing will produce more leads on the case.

Lynnwood Police have released a sketch of the man suspected of stabbing a student in a men's restroom at Edmonds Community College on May 31.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has more information about the case should call Lynnwood Police Det. Scott Dilworth at 425-670-5619.

The incident occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31. A male student was robbed of cash and stabbed in the men's restroom of Alderwood Hall at e.

According to the college, it was first time in the school's history that there has been an assault with a weapon on campus. The college was established in 1967.

The victim yelled for help and students and teachers nearby called 911, said Lynnwood Police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect running away from the campus. Police responded, sealed the area and searched for the suspect with the aid of a police dog.

The victim was transported to Swedish Edmonds Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he was treated and released.

Sessions described the suspect as a thin, black male, in his early 20s with a shaved head or very short haircut. He was wearing a black shirt and a blue and white plaid jacket. He used pepper spray and a knife in the attack.

Edmonds Community College remained open and no classes were cancelled as a result of the incident. No buildings were evacuated or locked down.
