Last Week at the Fire Department

A round up of the action at Snohomish County Fire District One.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 342 calls the week of March 31-April 6: 277 emergency medical aid calls, 15 motor vehicle collisions, 22 fires, eight service calls and 21 automatic fire alarms.

April 1

FIRE: At 7:50 a.m., a light haze of smoke was reported inside Cedar Way Elementary School in Mountlake Terrace. School was just beginning and all students and teachers were sent to the gymnasium while the origin of the smoke was traced.  Firefighters discovered a defective motor on a fan.  The issue was referred to maintenance and the school cleared for occupancy.

 COLLISION: At 12:49 p.m., a collision was reported on 128th St. SW between the I-5 overpass and 4th Avenue West south of Everett. Firefighters transported one person to Swedish/Mill Creek.

 COLLISION:  At 7:56 p.m., a collision was reported at the intersection of 43rd Avenue West and Shelby Road.  One patient with serious injuries was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center and another patient with minor injuries was transported to Swedish/Edmonds.

 April 3

WALL FIRE: At 1:34 a.m., a fire was reported at a home in the 200 block of 164th Street SE east of Lynnwood. A woman and two men got out of the house safely. Firefighters extinguished a small wall fire.

FIRE: At 10:22 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire at the Place 7 Condos in the 300 block of 128th Street SE south of Everett.

 April 6

CAR FIRE. At 7:41 a.m., firefighters responded to a car fire on 244th St. SW under the I-5 overpass in Mountlake Terrace.

 COLLISION. At 5:50 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek after responding to a collision at 128th St. SE and I-5 south of Everett.

 Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, serving more than 200,000 residents in the unincorporated communities of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Mariner, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop, Hilton Lake and Pioneer Trails; the Cities of Brier, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace; and the Town of Woodway.
