Lynnwood police are searching for a man who used a gun to rob a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Lynnwood just east of Edmonds Tuesday morning and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
The robbery just before 11 a.m. was at the branch in the 6400 block of 196th Street SW, very near Edmonds Community College.
Shannon Sessions, public information officer for the Lynnwood Police Department, said there was no impact on the college, about two blocks away.
No one was harmed when the robber walked into the bank, showed a gun and demanded money. He then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
The Lynnwood Police Department and the FBI are trying to determine if the robbery is related to others in the region.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s, about 6-foot-2 inches tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing black sun glasses, a tan driving cap, and a black vest with a long sleeve black shirt (see attached photos).
Anyone with information regarding this case should contact Lynnwood Police Det. Brian Jorgensen at 425-670-5632.
