Inmate's Death at Snohomish County Jail Under Investigation

22-year-old male booked Monday by Lynnwood Police Department.

A inmate's death at the Snohomish County Jail in Everett is currently under investigation.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, a 22-year old male inmate approached a custody deputy at about 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday and requested medical attention.

Shortly thereafter, the inmate collapsed to the floor. Corrections staff performed CPR and called 911. He was taken to Providence Medical Center, where he died at about 7:40 a.m.

The inmate had been booked into the county jail by the Lynnwood Police Department on Monday at about 11:45 a.m. on an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession.

The inmate's name has not been released, and the cause of death will be determined by Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
