Hit-and-Run in Esperance: Sheriff's Office Needs Help in Nabbing Driver

The victim was left on the road, a neighbor tells Patch. The incident occurred Monday on 92nd Ave. W. near 221st St. SW.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a hit-and-run that left a 15-year-old boy injured on Monday afternoon in the unincorporated Esperance neighborhood of Edmonds.

At about 4:45 p.m., the teen was walking northbound on 92nd Avenue West when he was struck by the passenger-side mirror of a passing truck.

The impact was severe enough to be heard by witnesses and dislodge the mirror from the truck. According to a nearby neighbor, who contacted Edmonds Patch, the victim was left by the side of the road and suffered a concussion, as well as a bruised face and shoulder.

The victim was transported to a hospital and later released.

Detectives collected the mirror and video from a nearby surveillance camera as evidence. The vehicle is described as a light colored, possibly gold, Ford F-150 pickup truck with a club cab.

The truck was traveling northbound on 92nd Avenue West and the accident occurred just north of 221st Street SW.
