Fire in Woodway: House a Total Loss

Investigators are working at the scene to determine how the fire started. No one injured.

A fire heavily damaged a home in Woodway early Monday morning.

The fire was reported at 6:10 a.m. at a house off a long gravel driveway in the 11400 block of North Dogwood Lane.

“No one was inside the house when the fire broke out,” said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for Snohomish County Fire District 1, which provides fire and emergency medical service in the Town of Woodway. “The resident was in a detached garage and went to a neighbor’s house to call 911.”

About 20 firefighters from Fire District 1 and Lynnwood responded.

“The daylight basement of the single-story house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived,” Hynes said. “The fire caused so much damage to the structure it became unsafe for firefighters to enter, so they attacked the flames from the outside.”
