Fire Department Responses: Two 2-Car Collisions in Edmonds

Snohomish County Fire District One makes 320 calls the week of Oct. 20-26.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 367 calls the week of Nov. 3-9:  282 emergency medical aid calls, 28 motor vehicle collisions, 25 fires, 16 service calls, three gas leaks, one hazardous materials call, one technical rescue and 11 automatic fire alarms.

Nov. 4

HOUSE FIRE: At 10:50 p.m., a house fire was reported in the 23100 block of Brier Road in Brier. A smoke alarm alerted the residents to smoke in the living room and they safely exited the home. The fireplace had been in use earlier in the day and it appeared the fire was started by an overheated wood frame adjacent to the fireplace, then spread to the attic. Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $100,000.

Nov. 5

COLLISION: At 1:13 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 22100 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 1:52 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 128th St. SW and 4th Ave. W south of Everett. Firefighters transported two patients to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Nov. 6

COLLISION: At 1:18 a.m., firefighters responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 99 and Lincoln Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters used rescue tools to free one patient trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters transported three seriously injured patients to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Nov. 7

COLLISION: At 7:12 a.m., a seven-car collision was reported in the carpool lane on southbound I-5 north of 196th Street SW in Lynnwood.  Several occupants had to be extricated from their cars. Firefighters transported two patients to Harborview Medical Center and one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital. They also treated five other patients at the scene.

VEHICLE FIRE: At 7:39 p.m., firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire in the 12500 block of 28th Place W south of Everett.

Nov. 9

COLLISION: At 2:41 p.m., a two-car collision occurred in the intersection of 226th Street SW and 82nd Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one driver to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 8:24 p.m., a two-car accident was reported on northbound I-5 on the ramp to southbound I-405.  Firefighters transported one patient to Evergreen Hospital.
