Fire Department Responses: Serious Injuries After Highway 99 Crash

Snohomish County Fire District One makes 325 calls the week of Dec. Jan. 26-Feb. 1.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 325 calls the week of Jan. 26 through Feb. 1: 252 emergency medical aid calls, 34 motor vehicle collisions, 13 fires, eight service calls, one natural gas leak and 17 automatic fire alarms.

Jan. 26

COLLISION: At 5:44 p.m., a three-car collision was reported in the 13400 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek emergency room.

COLLISION: At 7:04 p.m., a car drove into a ditch at Alder and Ash ways north of Lynnwood. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 8:27 p.m., a car struck a motorcyclist at Larch Way and Popular Way north of Brier. The injured motorcyclist was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds.

CAR FIRE: At 10:37 p.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 12100 block of 3rd Avenue SE south of Everett.

Jan. 27

HOUSE FIRE:  At 1:38 p.m., a house fire was reported in the 11900 block of Nels Peters Road in Everett. When firefighters arrived, the single-story house was engulfed in flames and the two residents were outside. Both residents were transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center. Investigators believe the fire was caused by a flammable finish that the owner was applying to the kitchen cabinets. Damage is estimated at $130,000.

COLLISION: At 3:48 p.m., two cars collided at 164th Street SW and 36th Avenue W north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Jan. 29

COLLISION: At 2:17 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at 156th Street SW and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. One person received minor injuries and was taken by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Jan. 30

COLLISION: At 3:39 p.m., a high-impact, rear-end collision was reported in the 21300 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. One person was seriously injured and was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center.

COLLISION: At 5:10 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision on southbound I-5 north of I-405. Four patients were transported to hospitals: three to Harborview Medical Center and one to Swedish/Edmonds.

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY CAR: At 6:48 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at the intersection of 140th Place SW and Admiralty Way north of Lynnwood. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

Jan. 31

COLLISION: At 10:23 p.m., a car crashed into a convenience store and struck several other vehicles in the parking lot in the 3600 block of 148th Street SW north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Feb. 1

COLLISION: At 8:26 a.m., a car collided with a school bus full of students at Center Road and Evergreen Way south of Everett. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was treated by firefighters at the scene.  No one on the bus was injured.
