Fire Department Responses in the Last Week

Here's a round up of the action in the past week at Snohomish County Fire District One.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 369 calls the week of April 28 through May 4: 293 emergency medical aid calls, 20 motor vehicle collisions, 19 fires, 16 service calls, one natural gas leak, one hazardous materials response and 20 automatic fire alarms.

April 28

COLLISION:  At 6:34 p.m., a car collided with a transit bus on northbound I-5 near Everett.  The driver of the car received serious injuries and was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.  There were more than 20 passengers on the bus, but no one was injured.

April 29

HOUSE FIRE:  At 12:04 a.m., a fire was reported at a home in the 10800 block of 22nd Drive SE south of Everett.  The occupants safely exited the house. Firefighters arrived to find a light haze of smoke in the house. The fire was already out and damage was contained to a small area of the family room. Firefighters used fans to clear smoke from the house. It appeared the fire was started by an unattended candle.

COLLISION:  At 6:32 a.m., a two-car, head-on collision was reported on Filbert Road near North Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one of the drivers to Swedish/Edmonds.

April 30

CAR FIRE:  At 7:13 p.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire at the end of a long driveway in the 12800 block of 25th Ave. SE south of Everett.

COLLISION:  At 10:05 p.m., a car and a motorcycle collided in the 22800 block of 100th Ave. W. in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured motorcyclist to Swedish/Edmonds.

May 3

COLLISION:  At 2:50 p.m., a collision was reported at 128th St. SW and E. Gibson Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported two patients with minor injuries to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

May 4

COLLISION:  At 9:04 a.m., a multi-vehicle collision was reported in the 15400 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Two cars, one truck and one transit bus were involved. Two people were thrown from one of the cars and sustained life-threatening injuries. They were transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.  The driver of the second car received minor injuries and transported by ambulance to Swedish/Edmonds. The occupants of the truck and the bus were uninjured.
