Fire Department Responses in the Last Week

A round up of activity at Fire District One last week.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 281 calls the week of March 24-30: 235 emergency medical aid calls, 12 motor vehicle collisions, 10 fires, four service calls and 20 automatic fire alarms.

 March 24

COLLISION.  At 4:08 p.m., firefighters responded to a blocking collision at 156th Street SW and 35th Ave. W north of Lynnwood. One person was transported to Swedish/Mill Creek with serious injuries.

BRUSH FIRE.  At 4:36 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a brush and tree fire at the entrance to the Avalon Highgrove Apartments in the 12400 block of Admiralty Way south of Everett.

 March 25

FIRE.  At 10:45 a.m., smoke was reported at an apartment in the 6200 block of St. Albion Way in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters arrived to find food burning on a stovetop. Firefighters made sure the fire was out and used fans to clear the smoke.

 March 27

COLLISION. At 3:18 p.m., a head-on collision occurred in the 13300 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and one patient to Swedish/Edmonds.

FIRE. At 9:22 p.m., flames and smoke were reported coming from a travel trailer in the 4900 block of 238th Place SW in Mountlake Terrace. Police were on scene when firefighters arrived and had put out most of the fire with an extinguisher and garden hose. Firefighters made sure the fire was out and ventilated the trailer to clear the smoke. The cause of the fire was determined to be an unattended burning candle.  The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $11,000.

March 30

COLLISION.  At 9:57 a.m., firefighters responded to a vehicle collision on southbound I-5 in Mountlake Terrace and transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds.
