Fire Department Responses: Head-On Collision on Fifth Avenue South

Snohomish County Fire District One makes 377 calls the week of Feb. 2-8.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 377 calls the week of February 2-8, 2012; 314 emergency medical aid calls, 20 motor vehicle collisions, 19 fires, seven service calls, four gas leaks, one hazardous materials call and 12 automatic fire alarms.

Feb. 5

COLLISION: At 10:04 p.m., a car left the road, drove into a drainage ditch and struck a utility pole in the 15500 block of Meadow Road northeast of Lynnwood.Β  The driver was critically injured and transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center.

Feb. 6

FIRE: At 2:56 p.m., firefighters extinguished a brush fire near 220th Place SW and 34th Avenue W in Brier.

COLLISION: At 3:31 p.m., a two-car, head-on collision was reported in the 1100 block of Fifth Avenue S in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one driver to Harborview Medical Center.

COLLISION: At 4:16 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 148th Street SW and 40th Avenue W north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital and another patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

COLLISION: At 10:48 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at King Place and Larch Way northeast of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

Feb. 7

CAR FIRE: At 2:23 p.m., firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire on the right shoulder of southbound I-5 at 128th Street SW. No injuries were reported.

Feb. 8

COLLISION: At 6:21 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 236th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
