Fire Department Responses: Collisions, Chimney Fires, Downed Power Lines
Snohomish County Fire District One makes 384 calls the week of Dec. Jan. 12-18.
Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 384 calls the week of Jan. 12-18: 269 emergency medical aid calls, 37 fires, 34 motor vehicle collisions, 21 service calls, 16 automatic fire alarms, five natural gas leaks, one carbon monoxide alarm and one hazardous materials response.
Jan. 13
COLLISION. At 11:02 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a collision involving several cars on southbound I-5 north of 164th St. SW.

Jan. 15
COLLISION. At 9:22 a.m., two cars collided at 224th St. SW and 76th Ave. W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Jan. 17
CHIMNEY FIRE. At 12:26 p.m., firefighters responded to a chimney fire at a home in the 8900 block of 220th St. SW in Edmonds. The fire was contained to the chimney and did not damage the structure.
COLLISION. At 9:46 p.m., a car hit a light pole on northbound I-5 south of 220th St. SW. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
Jan. 18
CHIMNEY FIRE. At 12:59 p.m., firefighters extinguished a chimney fire at a home in the 14300 block of 47th Pl. W north of Lynnwood.
COLLISION. At 1:42 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Harborview Medical Center after responding to a car that crashed into the guardrail on northbound I-5 south of 196th St. SW.
COLLISION. At 3:43 p.m., a car crashed into the cement barrier on northbound I-5 north of 164th St. SW. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
DOWN POWER LINES. Throughout the day, firefighters responded to 14 calls for downed power lines, mostly in Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds.
