Edmonds Woman Charged with Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty

Rose Adams is to be arraigned on two misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty after 14 dogs were seized from her home. Two are still under veterinary care for their injuries.

Late Wednesday afternoon Rose Adams was charged with two misdemeanor counts  of animal cruelty after 14 dogs were seized from her Edmonds home.  She initially had been charged with having 9 dogs over the legal limit.

A man known to live with Adams was booked into Snohomish County Jail and will be charged with one (1) misdemeanor count of animal cruelty, Edmonds Police said.

Edmonds Police Department Animal Control Officers assisted by Edmonds Police detectives established enough probable cause for these charges after going over numerous pieces of evidence, statements and videos, but community members said they have been trying to get the attention of authorities for months.

The dogs that were taken from the house are still being held pending outcome of the investigation, and residents have expressed concern that one of the injured animals, a white Pit Bull terrier named Sadie, could be returned to Adams. The dog is shown in numerous videos posted on the Internet being attacked by three other Pit Bulls and kicked by the man at the house. At least one person dedicated an entire website to exposing the alleged abuse by Adams, and claims that Sadie also was injured in October of 2012.

A Facebook Page, for Sadie's Sake, also has been established by rescue advocates.

Sadie and another of the 14 dogs are still undergoing medical treatment at a local veterinary clinic but are expected to make a full recovery.
