Edmonds Police Seek Public's Help in Hit and Run

On Sept. 20, 2013 at 2:45 a.m., two pedestrians were crossing 220th St SW northbound on the east side of Highway 99, when they were struck by a truck that was traveling westbound on 220th St SW, Edmonds police said Friday.

The pedestrians, a 38-year-old female Mountlake Terrace resident and the male a 36-year-old Everett resident were in the crosswalk about half way across the street when they were both hit by the truck.  The female suffered multiple injuries including a fractured femur and was transported to Harborview Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The male suffered abrasions, bruising and other less severe injuries and was transported to Swedish Hospital Edmonds for treatment.  The truck did not stop and was last seen by witnesses heading west on 220th St SW towards 76th Ave W.

The Edmonds Police Department has exhausted all existing leads and is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver and vehicle involved in this collision.  With this release is an image taken off of a security camera video located at a business adjacent to the intersection. The suspect vehicle is described as a mid-2000’s Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.  Missing the tailgate, black bed liner, possible existing damage to passenger door area, and will be missing the glass from the driver’s door mirror (or recently replaced).

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Edmonds Police Department at 425-771-0200 and ask for Officer Tony Collins, Lead Traffic Collision Investigator.
