Edmonds Police are investigating a July 15 attempted kidnapping near Scriber Lake High School in Woodway.
Police say two 12-year-old boys were walking to the school, also known as the former Woodway High School, from a McDonald's in the 10100 block of Edmonds Way when they were approached by a dark gray or silver Volvo SUV with a roof rack in the 23100 block of 102nd Place W.
One of the boys told police the car drove right up next to him, and a female passenger asked him where the two boys lived. The boy replied that they lived far away, and the woman offered to give them a ride home.
Police say the male driver then demanded that the boys "get in the car," at which point they started running toward Scriber High School, jumping over a fence and gate to get onto school property. Once at the school, the boys noticed the SUV was gone.
Police say the suspects are a white male and female in their 30s. The man had short, dark and wavy hair that had been styled with hair product, and the woman had dark shoulder-length hair that was pulled into a ponytail. The man had a stocky build and was wearing a dark-colored shirt.
