Edmonds Police Nab Suspected Armed Robber

A detective saw the suspect, a 23-year-old Edmonds man, walking north on Highway 99 on Wednesday, May 22.

Edmonds Police have arrested a 23-year-old Edmonds man on first degree robbery charges after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman as she came home to her apartment May 15.

On May 15, an Edmonds woman was the victim of a robbery and first degree assault in the 7200 block of 213th Pl SW. 

Edmonds Police said the suspect, a 23-35 year old black male was reportedly armed with a pistol and had threatened to kill the victim if she looked at him.  The suspect had fled on foot and was not caught at the time, despite a K-9 search that resulted in the lockdown of a local school. 

During the follow-up investigation the detective assigned to the case had identified a suspect and developed probable cause to arrest him.   

On Wednesday, May 22, at about 5 p.m., the Edmonds Police Detective assigned to the case was driving in the area of Hwy 99 and 220th St SW looking for the suspect when he spotted him on foot walking north along Hwy 99. 

Patrol officers quickly responded to the location where he was taken into custody.  The suspect is a 23-year-old Edmonds resident.  He was booked into jail on robbery 1st degree charges.  He is currently being held on Robbery 1st degree charges with $25,000 bail.
