Edmonds Police Issue Warning About Counterfeit Bills

Numerous cases have been reported at businesses along Highway 99 during the last two weeks, police said.

The Edmonds Police Department is investigating a series of counterfeit bill cases at businesses along Highway 99.

Businesses including large supermarkets and fast-food restaurants have reported several counterfeit cases during the last two weeks, police said in a news release. The bills have ranged from $5 to $100 and "are of poor quality," police said.

Some of the bills reported to police were passed by customers while others were exchanged between merchants located along Highway 99.

Police have not identified any suspects in the string of cases.
