Edmonds PD Responds to Forced Prostitution Case
Female called from Andy's Motel on Highway 99 in Edmonds.
An Oregon man has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail after he allegedly forced a Portland woman into prostitution to pay off her brother's debt, the Herald reports.
According to Sgt. Don Anderson of the Edmonds Police Department, the female called from on Highway 99 in Edmonds on Saturday at 5:55 p.m.
"She called us while the male subject was at another location in the city of Shoreline," Anderson said. "After completing the initial investigation, we proceeded to the location he was at in Shoreline and arrested him."

The Herald reports that "the woman told police that the suspect, 37, threatened to kill her brother and her 'entire house' if she refused, Edmonds police wrote in court papers."
