A 43-year-old Edmonds man shot in the leg around midnight Thursday by Washington State Troopers was booked into King County Jail Friday morning on suspicion of assault and attempting to elude police.
The man, who has not been charged, allegedly refused to pull over for a trooper late Thursday night in Lynnwood, then led police on a chase that ended along 175th street in Shoreline. There he allegedly rammed one of two State Patrol vehicles and was fired on by two troopers.
The man attempted to flee on foot, but was captured a short distance away. Police says drugs or alcohol might have been a factor in the incident.
Both officers have been reassigned to administrative duties pending an investigation. One is 38 years old, a trooper for two years. The other is 29 and a trooper for 6.5 years. Neither were injured.
Charges are pending, said State Patrol spokesman Mark Francis. The suspect was initially taken to Harborview Medical Center with wounds that were not life-threatening, and was booked into the jail at about 8 a.m Friday morning.
Patch typically does not name suspects until they are charged.
