DUI Campaign Nets 401 Arrests in Snohomish County

The state's first "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" initiative ran from Nov. 21 to Jan. 1.

The state's first "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" holiday DUI campaign resulted in the arrest of 401 drivers around Snohomish County and a total of 3,446 arrests statewide.

The effort ran from Nov. 21, 2012, to Jan. 1, 2013. Last year in Snohomish County, regular and extra patrols arrested 397 on suspicion of DUI during that same time period.

The following Snohomish County jurisdictions participated in the new campaign: Arlington, Bothell, Brier, Edmonds, Everett, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo and Tulalip Police Departments, as well as the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol and the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

Extra patrols were funded through a grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
