Update: Three Injured in Felony Hit and Run in Edmonds, Driver Still At Large

Update 11:55 a.m. July 9: Edmonds police told Patch this morning that traffic officers investigating this case may have the information on a suspect and that we can expect another update sometime this afternoon.

At least three people were injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen car Monday afternoon, July 8, 2013, in Edmonds, police say. The driver of the stolen car is still at large.

There were three people in a car stolen from Seattle when it struck a truck at about 12:50 p.m. on the 23100 block of 76th Ave W. The three reportedly fled the scene. 

Once officers arrived, aid and medic units from Fire District 1 were advised of injuries to the victim driver and responded to the scene. 

Edmonds Officers requested a police K9 unit and containment was set up for the fleeing suspects. A Lynnwood Police K9 unit responded along with Mountlake Terrace Police units who assisted in the search. 

Two of the three fleeing suspects were taken into custody soon thereafter. The two suspects detained also suffered injuries in the collision. One was transported to Swedish Hospital and one to Harborview Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The victim driver was also taken to Harborview Hospital for treatment.

None of the injured parties had life threatening injuries, police say.

The driver of the stolen vehicle is still at large. He is described as a Hispanic or Black male wearing a baseball hat with writing on it. Patch wil update this story when the description is updated.
