The body of a camper found Thursday morning on the west slope of the Cascade Mountains has positively been identified as Michael Arjuna Antonelli of Edmonds. He was 36.

The body was found about 100 yards downstream from Antonelli’s campsite. Antonelli went missing after a trip to Boulder Lake last weekend.

Antonelli left Edmonds on July 2 with his dog, planning to camp for the weekend and return Monday evening. When he failed to return home, his girlfriend notified authorities.

On Tuesday, Sheriff's Office deputies located his campsite near the Boulder Lake trail head. Antonelli's tent was set up near a 20-foot cliff drop off, with Elk Creek below. Upon examining the terrain, the deputies determined the ground may have given way when Antonelli got too close to the cliff edge. They suspected he may have fallen into the creek, which is running high and fast right now.

There is no information on Antonelli's dog, a 5-year-old catahoula leopard hound named Katie.
