20 Fires, Car Collides with Building – Snohomish Fire District 1 Calls

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 367 calls the week of Aug. 8-14.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 367 calls the week of Aug. 8-14: 288 emergency medical aid calls, 19 motor vehicle collisions, 20 fires, 16 service calls, 1 gas leaks, 1 technical rescue and 22 automatic fire alarms.

August 9

COLLISION:  At 3:06 p.m., two cars were involved in a T-bone collision at 220th Street SW and 53rd Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace.  Firefighters transported one patient with serious injuries to Harborview Medical Center.

BRUSH FIRE:  At 4:13 a.m., firefighters extinguished a brush fire near the railroad tracks at Picnic Point Road and Puget Sound Boulevard south of Mukilteo. Train traffic had be stopped while firefighters and trucks were working on the tracks.

COLLISION:  At 6:06 p.m., firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after a car collided with a building in the 6500 block of 218th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace.

August 12

HOUSE FIRE:  At 2:53 p.m., a house fire was reported in the 11400 block of 31st Avenue SE east of Everett. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in the two-story unoccupied house. No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $160,000 and the cause is still under investigation.

COLLISION:  At 6:23 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett after responding to a two-car collision at 144th Street SE and 46th Avenue SE east of Everett. 

August 13

COLLISION: At 2:46 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett after responding to a collision involving a motorcycle and a car at Highway 99 and Russell Way south of Everett.

August 14

At 12:01 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision at Admiralty Way and Gibson Road south of Everett. 

At 8:59 p.m., three cars collided at 164th St. SW and Ash Way north of Lynnwood. One of the cars fled. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly 200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
