It's a great idea for individuals to create emergency kits for their homes and cars. One local school needs help creating comfort kits for their students.
They are looking for non-perishable kid-friendly snacks that will last over a year including cheese and cracker packs, applesauce, and granola bars. It will also help to have flashlights and batteries, solar blankets, caps and mittens and wind-up radios. They'd also appreciate fleece wraps cut to approximately 1/2 yard strips.
If you can help, please contact me before you make any items, purchase food donations or send money to support purchasing items. Thank you in advance for your caring. Hopefully emergencies that require use of these materials will be few and far between!
