Springlike conditions make finding a parking spot on Sunset Avenue a challenge.
You've probably done it. When all of the alloted parking spaces on Sunset Avenue are taken, you think, what's the harm in parking my car by the yellow curb for a minutes? After all, you'll take a legal spot when it opens up.
On Saturday, there was no pretending that yellow means no.
All day long, the clears skies and warm, springlike weather kept parking on Sunset Avenue at a premium.

Any available spot on the west side of Sunset, legal or not, was quickly snapped up. Angle parking, straight on, it didn't matter.
The payoff: Gorgeous views of Puget Sound, the Olympics, Mount Baker, Kitsap Peninsula, Whidbey Island and beyond.

There are all kinds of parking regulations in Edmonds. At least one of them probably has something to do with keeping Sunset manageable for residents of that beautiful stretch of road.
On Saturday, though, it was a free-for-all.
