Ribbon Cutting for Solar Panels at Frances Anderson Center Is Oct. 19

The panels are an initiative of Sustainable Edmonds and the Edmonds Community Solar Cooperative.

The official ribbon-cutting for the solar array installation at the in Edmonds will be held Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m.

The ceremony, an initiative of Sustainable Edmonds and the Edmonds Community Solar Cooperative, will take place inside the Plaza Room of the .

The public is invited.

The 4.2 killowatt array—in this case, the "array" is the placement of panel in rows—was installed in September and funded by a group of local citizens, organized as a cooperative.

The solar panels and inverter—an electrical device—were amanufactured in Washington, fulfilling one of the goals of the co-op to support employment in the state.

Membership in the Edmonds Community Solar Co-Op is open to all Snohomish PUD customers.
