Holiday Shows and Concerts Abound in Edmonds This Weekend

Sing-a-longs at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, caroling in front of Engels Pub. Plus the Cascade Symphony on Monday. Are you in a holiday mood yet?

Looking for some holiday activities this weekend? Here are a few.

“Christmas Belles”: Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Dec. 18 at the Phoenix Theater, 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds. Special shows 8 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23. The church Christmas pageant centers on three squabbling sisters looking to regain the holiday spirit. Tickets are $15.50-$18.50. Information: 206-5233-2000 or through Brown Paper Tickets.

Holiday Concert:  The Exchange Club of Edmonds’ eighth annual show is 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the Wade James Theater, 950 Main St., Edmonds. The concert will feature the magic of Aaron Wheeler and performances by the Mountlake Terrace High School Jazz Ensemble, the Big Blue Ball Marimba Ensemble and the Sweet Adeline Quartet. “The Lights Before Christmas”: 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Edgewood Baptist Church, 20406 76th Ave. W, Edmonds. This features a family oriented Christmas show of illusions from Christian evangelist Brock Gill and Christmas music from the Edgewood Choir and Orchestra. Free. Doors open 30 minutes before the show. Information: 425-776-5104

“Holiday Magic: A World of Celebrations”: 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds. Christmas music from around the world—including Spain, Germany, Italy, England, Japan and Kenya—will be performed by the Sno-King Community Chorale. Also featured: a reading of “Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus,” an editorial in the New York Sun from 1897 in response to a question by Virginia O’Hanlon.  Tickets are $10-$20. Engles Jingles: Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Engels Pub, 113 Fifth Ave. S, Edmonds. All are welcome for a night of caroling. Information: 425-778-2900.

Holiday concert: 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds. The Cascade Symphony Orchestra performs a selection of holiday music from Tchaikovsky, Leroy Anderson and others. The show features two 11-year-old dancers, Polina Dickenson and Nathan Murstein, USA National Champions who competed on the 2010 Junior USA team in Blackpool, England. Also featured will be a sing-a-long. Tickets are $10-$25. Information: 425-275-9595.
