Edmonds in Bloom Winners

The awards for Edmonds in Bloom's gardens of distinction were given at the awards reception at the Edmonds Center for the Arts on Aug. 8.
Mayor Dave Earling, a guest speaker, spoke about the value of community and of the many volunteers in Edmonds.

President Larry Temple introduced Wayne Purser, who was master of ceremonies. Garden competition co-chairs Joyce Johnson and Barbara Chase announced the winners.
The evening began with a special award for Cadette Girl Scout Troop #41425 for caring for plantings in Perrinville for the past three years. Ceramic plaques made by a local artist were presented to Gardens of Distinction.

There were 72 single- and multifamily residences, veggie and fruit gardens and commercial businesses receiving either plaques or certificates of appreciation.
After the awards presentation, Bill and Maxine Mitchell presented a virtual tour of the Kids Plant for Moms Day, the seven garden tour places and all the garden competition participants.
