BBQ, Beer and Music: American Brewing Co. Having Its First New Year's Eve Party
A barbecue competition will be followed by live music from Third Train Running.
American Brewing Company, , has made plans for its inaguaral New Year's Eve celebration on Saturday.
The tasting room will open at 2 p.m., and both big-screen TVs will be tuned to college football bowl games, says publicist Julie Anderson.
The brewery also plans a New Year's Eve barbecue showdown from 5 to 8 p.m. Challengers will be cooking up the goods on three smokers. One winner will be chosen for the best brisket. Admission is free, and participants will be able to sample the brisket, as well as chicken and pulled pork will voting for their favorite.

There's $5 cover charge beginning at 8 p.m. for the New Year's Eve party, which includes finger foods, snacks and party favors. New Breakway IPA T-Shirts will be on sale for $22.

Live music wil be provided by Third Train Running from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The acoustic group performs rock, blues and folk songs.
