Save the Edmonds Log Cabin! Donations Now Being Accepted

Volunteer Al Rutledge is taking your donations today at QFC.

Al Rutledge, a familiar face around Edmonds and perennial candidate for Edmonds City Council, is passionate at the, the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce's official visitor center at 120 Fifth Ave. N.

The cabin, offically the Ganahl-Hanley Log Cabin, is staffed by volunteers and has nonprofit status.

Because of this, Rutledge frequently raises fund for the cabin.

Today, you can find Rutledge until 7 p.m. in front of the south entrance of .

Rutledge, a volunteer, is soliciting funds for the upkeep of the cabin, the inside of which was cleaned in April thanks to $375 from the Log Cabin Committee Fund.

"We need your help to ensure continuation for the future of the log cabin, which is owned by the City of Edmonds," said Rutledge. "The cost for maintenance is estimated at $10,500."

Rutledge will also be collections donations next Friday in front of and June 9 at the .
