Self-Composed

The teen-age years are tough, even for the most well-adjusted.  Add in a difficult home life and you've got a full-blown existential crisis.  This is the topic of a new play being featured by The Edmonds Driftwood Players for one weekend only - Jan 16-19 - as part of their annual Spotlight on local playwrights.

"Self-Composed" is an edgy examination of self-identity and friendship, and is a new play by young Bellinham author Lyssandra Norton.  The inspiration for the play comes from the existential crisis that all college students go through in their early 20s.  That moment when you realize the world is so much bigger than you thought it was, yet your network is incredibly connected.  You can know everyone and no one at once..."

"Self-Composed" was nominated for the David Mark Cohen playwrighting award and was a finalist for the Paula Vogel playwrighting award in 2012.  Gritty yet lyrical, this play speaks with an honesty and compassion that is wise beyond its years.

Suggested for ages 13 and over due to mature content.

Running one weekend ONLY, January 16-19, 2014, Thur,Fri,Sat @ 8pm,
Sun @ 2pm.  Tickets are $14.  Purchase online at www.driftwoodplayers.com or call 425-774-9600
