The Trash Man Cometh: Republic Says Normal Service for Edmonds Thursday

Representatives for Republic confirmed this morning that residents with regular trash and recycling pickups scheduled for Thursday, April 18, will get service as normal.

The trash is back on track, Allied Waste/Republic representatives told Patch Thursday morning.

Service was disrupted in Edmonds and other areas Wednesday as local Teamsters picketed in solidarity with striking workers in Ohio.

Republic spokeswoman Anne Laughlin said Thursday morning that residents can expect regular pickups. Residents who had pickup scheduled for Wednesday can put twice the amount out at their regular pickup day at no charge, the company said.

Rather than being held hostage by wildcat strikes, Edmonds needs to get a DIFFERENT trash company. Those who struck illegally need to be fired!

The garbage in our neighborhood has still not been picked up. I thought it was said that service was resuming on April 18?
