Swinging with the Seniors

Join members of the Edmonds Senior Center for live music, dancing and a trip down memory lane.

Shuffle on down to the this Friday for the annual end-of-the-year Senior Celebration party. Travel back to your high school days with nostalgic live music, dancing and festive costume contest.

“We have a dance every Friday of the month,” said Jen English, a member of the Senior Center staff, “and this is the big culmination of all those dances.”

The party will feature music from Shane Cobane, a local Elvis impersonator who performed last year, as well as the Astoria Band.

Couples and singles are encouraged to attend, and prizes will be awarded for best costume, so break out your old letterman’s jacket and pom-poms. Memory photos with friends are included with ticket price. A light meal will served including sandwiches and appetizers.

“It should be a fun night,” English said. “It is bigger than the Friday dances with a little bit more entertainment, Elvis and a costume contest.”
