Summer Camps at Edmonds Parks and Rec

School's out and summer is upon us, which means it's time for camps. Keep the kids busy creating science experiments, dancing like a princess, or painting their own masterpieces. Here are details on three July summer camps with Edmonds Parks and Recreation.

Moving With Science Camp

For ages 6-8. Discover how things move with science! Take apart pellets to see what an owl cannot digest. Join a team of camper engineers and assemble and control simple machines. Make a camera obscura, sidewalk chalk, crystal gardens, and chromatography dyed neckerchief. Not all subjects will be covered in a half day camp. July 11-15 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $150. Kindermusik Princess Camp

For ages 4-8. Spend a royal week learning to sing and dance like a princess. Listen to magnificent music from all over the world, play instruments, create stories, attend a tea party, prepare for a ball, make beautiful crafts, and twirl in your very own musical tutu. Paint and Brush Up On the Masters Camp

For ages 8-14. Paint a still-life in the studio like Henri Matisse, create a landscape of Edmonds like Claude Monet, make a self-portrait like Gustav Klimt, or recreate an abstract with colors, shapes and lines like Vasily Kandinsky.  Learn about these masters and create four paintings in four days.
