J.P. Patches will get a street named after him in Fremont.
The Seattle City Council this week approved a resolution to honor the late Chris Wedes, an Edmonds resident who died July 22 at age of 84.
The honorary designation adds the street name J.P. Patches Place to a short stretch of Fremont's north 34th Street near the famed statue of the icon.
Wedes, a familiar presence at A Taste of Edmonds, starred on The J.P. Patches Show for 23 years, from 1958 through 1981.
