Statement From Edmonds-Woodway Principal on Alleged Threats

"We thoroughly investigated that threat and found it to be unsubstantiated," says principal Miriam Mickelson.

Due to rumors of threats to Edmonds-Woodway High School in the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, CT, EWHS principal Miriam Mickelson has released a statement. It was read to students and staff at the end of school today:

I want to take a moment to share with you accurate information regarding a specific concern we received and what steps we took to investigate. There was a rumor of an alleged future threat here at EWHS.

We thoroughly investigated that threat and found it to be unsubstantiated. We understand that at this time there is heightened awareness regarding school safety at schools across the country and its always the correct course of action to report and share information with staff so it can be investigated.
