PAWS at the Market

This Saturday, PAWS will have a booth at the Edmonds Museum Summer Market. Stop by to ask questions about adoption, volunteer opportunities and sign up for the annual PAWSwalk.

This Saturday, while picking up fresh veggies and flowers at the Garden Market, keep your eyes peeled for PAWS, which will set up camp near Centennial Plaza. Volunteers from the organization will be on hand to answer animal-related questions, educate market-goers about how to keep pets and family safe from raccoons and talk about volunteer opportunities.

The organization will also be promoting the 20th anniversary of PAWSwalk, an annual fundraising event. All donations go to help animals through education, legislation and direct care. This includes food, shelter and medical attention for thousands of animals each year.

“I have participated in the PAWSwalk before,” said local animal-lover Linda Scott. She and her golden retriever Dolly have raised money and walked in the past. “It is such a wonderful way to show your support for such a great organization, plus it is fun to be around other animal lovers and their pets.”

This year’s PAWSwalk is set for Sept. 10 at Seattle’s Magnuson Park. Aside from the 5K walk through the park, there will be a Kid Zone, canine agility course, FlyBall demonstrations, free samples and contests for both dogs and their owners.

Don’t miss your opportunity to aide animals and need by helping PAWS reach their $200,000 fundraising goal.
