Seen any fairies and elves lately? Your chance is coming up.
The , in cooperation with Edmonds in Bloom, will sponsor the fourth annual Parade of Fairies and Elves on May 12.
This event is open to the public, and people of all ages are invited to participate.
Participants should dress up as a fairy or an elf, a woodland sprite, or other magical being.
Here's the plan:
11 a.m.: Meet at the library to make a fairy wand, an elf hat or put whatever finishing touch is needed on costumes. Library staff will share a fairy story, practice a fairy song and organize for the parade.
Noon: Parade of Fairy and Elves leaves Edmonds Library, walks down Main Street and ends at the Edmonds Museum Garden Market. Its a simple walk, with musical accompaniment, says Edith I. Farrar, children's librarian.
"This event has become a lovely way to welcome back spring, celebrate Mother’s Day and the return of the farmers market," says Farrar.
