  • Why Go: Take Me America is a new musical from the Village Theatre about those who seek asylum in the United States and the people who bear the responsibility of determining their fate. Check out this preview of the production so you'll know what you're in for.

  • Why Go: As part of Edmonds CC's fall lecture series, the college welcomes T. Alan Hurwitz as he leads a lecture on "Serving the Deaf Community and People Hard of Hearing in the 21st Century." Hurwits is the president of Gallaudet University, the world’s only university in which all programs and services are specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students.

  • Where/When: 9 p.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturday at  in Shoreline.
  • Why Go: There's lots of live music to be had at Darrell's this weekend. Friday night is the CD Release party for Green Handshake, which will be joined by Plastards and Dead Man. Saturday it's the rockabilly sound of Blacktop Deceiver, Low Land High and The Hilltones.
