  • Where/When: 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Plaza, Fifth and Bell in Edmonds.
  • Why Go: Join the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce as it welcomes Santa and the holiday season to downtown Edmonds with a tree lighting ceremony. There will be cookies, cider, Christmas carols, and a visit from Santa. After the tree is lighted, join Santa for a walk down to the Edmonds Conference Center for more jolly times and photos.

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday at , 950 Main St., Edmonds.
  • Why Go: It's opening weekend for the Driftwood Players production of The King & I. It's a Rodgers & Hammerstein musical classic.
  • Cost: $23, $20 for those 18 and under, seniors 60 and over and military with ID and in uniform).

  • Why Go: Snap holiday photos with Santa and the backdrop of Sky Nursery. Star 101.5 will also be holding a live broadcast at the nursery from noon-2 p.m. On hand will be Pirak from the Kent and Alan show.

  • Where/When: 1-8 p.m. Sundays at .
  • Why Go: Do you and your friends or family love game night? Maybe you've grown tired of that same old Monopoly game and need something new. Or maybe you just need a bigger space to play. The commons has you covered either way. Every Sunday the Third Place Gamers meet to play a variety of board, card and party games. Bring your own games to play or make some friends and try your hand at a new game.

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday at the Taproot Theatre Company in Seattle.
  • Why Go: Join the Taproot Theatre for the opening weekend of its newest production, Beasley's Christmas Party. It's a holiday comedy.
  • Tickets: $27-$35

  • Where/When: Noon Saturday at .
  • Why Go: Get your singing voice ready for this one. Watch the original 1965 movie in Technicolor, with lyrics on-screen for all the songs, and heckle and cheer accordingly. Costumes are encouraged, prizes will be awarded and everyone receives a goody bag for full audience participation.
  • Tickets: $15 all seats. Family package: Four or more tickets, $10 each
