  • Where/When: 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Fri, June 8 at Edmonds Station (210 Railroad Ave).
  • Why Go: Join Sound Transit and their partners as they dedicate the new Edmonds Sounder Station. The newly renovated Edmonds Station opens for service to Sounder train riders on Monday, July 11. The station has been renovated with a more welcoming, attractive and pedestrian-friendly experience for both commuters and area residents with a new train platform, larger passenger loading area and new transit shelters. The station also features a 15-foot tall, totem-like bronze sculpture by renowned local artist Gerard Tsutakawa called "Standing Wave."
  • Cost: The event is free to attend but please RSVP to events@soundtransit.org.

  • Where/When: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sat, July 9 at Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood.
  • Why Go: Love garage sale shopping, but hate driving from sale to sale following those cardboard "garage sale" signs? You're in luck because the Lynnwood Rotary has put together the Mother of All Garage Sales. This Saturday you'll only need to type one location into that GPS of yours: Meadowdale High School. Come and browse knickknack after knickknack and hopfully you'll walk away with a treasure.
  • Cost: Admission is free.

 

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sat, June 9 starting at in Shoreline.
  • Why Go: This Habitat Tour is an opportunity to view six National Wildlife Federation Certified Backyard Habitats all in local Shoreline neighborhoods. During the tour you'll see how others welcome wildlife into their yards; exchange ideas, and learn how easily you too can make your yard welcoming to native plants, butterflies, birds, frogs, and other local wildlife.
  • Cost: Admission is free.

 

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. on Fri, June 8 at the Comcast Arena at Everett.
  • Why Go: If you were a fan of the latest season of American Idol, you may want to check out this concert on Friday night. The show will feature the top eleven finalist including Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, Naima Adedapo, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, Scotty McCreery, Thia Megia and local favorite Stefano Langone. Cant wait until Friday to get your Idol on? These clips should tide you over.
  • Cost: Tickets range between $45 and $60.

 

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the in Edmonds.
  • Why Go: Join the Driftwood Players this weekend for a fantastic line-up of playwright finalists who'll display their most innovative, hilarious, or profound pieces in just fifteen minutes of stage-time. Be sure to pick a favorite during this performance because you, the audience will choose the winner!
  • Cost: All tickets are $12.
