  • Why Go: Cascade Symphony and music director Michael Miropolsky present a 50th season of musical masterpieces and virtuoso soloists this Saturday at the ECA. This concert includes musical selections from Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf," with Olympic Ballet Theatre and narration read by Dave Dolacky. In addition, a young prodigy and winner of the Cascade Symphony Rising Star contest will perform the first movement of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major.

  • Why Go: The Washington Beer Commission invites you to visit some of our state’s many innovative, esteemed and friendly craft brewers this Saturday. The open house for Edmonds' American Brewing Company will have special beers on tap, brewery tours, and opportunities to meet the brewers. Opera Scenes at Shoreline Community College

  • Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Shoreline Community College.
  • Why Go: Join Shoreline Community College's Opera Workshop for an evening of operatic arias and ensembles performed by talented student singers and actors. They're joined by the Shoreline Chamber Chorale and accompanied by chamber orchestra and piano.
  • Tickets: $15; $10 for students and seniors; $8 for Shoreline Community College students and children 14 and under.

  • Where/When: 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday at Third Place Commons, Lake Forest Park
  • Why Go: For their 100-year anniversary, Girl Scouts of all ages will gather in the Commons to celebrate with song, historical bingo and crafts.
  • Cost: Free.
