Edmonds in Bloom Competition Deadline Nearing; Tour Is July 15

It's June, so now is the time to be preparing your garden for the 2012 Edmonds in Bloom Garden Competition.

A new category for veggies and fruit in the front garden has been added.

Residences including apartments, town homes, condos and balconies are all eligible.

Businesses may enter, receive one of the flags and be part of the event that celebrates floral beauty. Businesses are non-competitors.

The deadline for entering is July 3, and Edmonds in Bloom encourages new gardeners to enter into the mix. Gardens will be judged in mid-July. An awards reception, open to all entrants and citizens, is Aug. 8 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.   

The annual Edmonds in Bloom Garden Tour is July 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person for the self-guided tour.
