Edmonds Couple Donates Big Rig to Help Children's Health

Kenworth Truck Co. is recognizing their donation and giving them a tour of its Renton plant.

An Edmonds couple with a longtime interest in big-rig trucks used a decades-old stock investment to help improve children’s health.

The pair have been fans of Kenworth Truck Co. since they lived near a Kenworth factory in Seattle 60 years ago and watched the brand new trucks leave the plant for test drives. That’s when they decided to buy stock in Paccar, Kenworth’s Bellevue-based parent company.

They recently decided to use that investment to benefit children’s health, donating stock worth nearly $150,000 to buy a new Kenworth T660 for the Northwest Lions Foundation, which it uses to transport a mobile health screening unit.
