Best Mom in Edmonds Has a Pretty Cool Kid, Too
Thanks to those who submitted entries.
We received some for this week's "Best Mom in Edmonds" contest.
Thanks to those who took part. All great moms!
The winning entry was submitted by 13-year-old Jai Veilleux of Edmonds. He submitted a picture of himself and his mom, Deborah Binder, and dad, Gaetan Veilleux.

Here's what Jai, a seventh-grader at College Place Middle School, wrote:
My Mom is the BEST Mom in Edmonds! She takes care of my Dad and me even while she was healing from lots of surgeries and treatments for Ovarian Cancer. She cooks everything from scratch which makes me very spoiled when I eat other food. I know she cares about me when she tries to get me to do new things. She is a nice person, too! Jai Veilleux, Age 13, Edmonds.

"He loves to play the saxophone for the CPM Jazz Band and he is member of the NW Boychoir," said Binder. "He will be performing at Benaroya Hall on Monday for the 'Music of Remembrance' concert. He's been a trooper while I have been healing from lots of surgeries and chemotherapy. I hope to live a long time so I can see him grow into a successful adult!"
Jai wins a $25 gift card from Arnie's, which was named in last week's Readers' Choice poll.
He also wins our vote as a pretty cool kid.
