Batten Down the Hatches: Wind Advisory Underway

A Wind Advisory is in effect through 4 p.m. Monday.

Late Sunday afternoon, a wind advisory was issued for the Puget Sound area, specifically Seattle, Everett, Tacoma, Olympia, Shelton and Port Angeles.

South to southwest winds are expected to increase Sunday through Monday afternoon with a front that moves across the area late Sunday evening. Winds will shift westerly around the Strait of Juan de Fuca and in the south interior behind the front into Monday morning. The strongest winds are expected late Sunday night through early Monday morning.

Wind speed is expected to reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts of up to 55 mph. This amount of force may snap small tree branches and cause local power outages.
