Have you always wanted your son or daughter to play an orchestra instrument but didn't know where to get started?  Or perhaps they already play violin or clarinet or another instrument but you would like to see them excel in a chamber group or larger ensemble?

Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra's Summer Sounds and Summer Prep Strings offer programs accommodating all levels of musicians from the beginner to the more experienced middle school or high school musician.  For the beginner, it is a great way to join an orchestra without the pressure of an audition or formal performance.  Now in its 25th year, Summer Sounds Orchestra Camp and Summer Prep Strings Music Camp offer the full orchestra experience with chamber music groups and professional instrument coaching. 

We offer two, 1 week sessions starting August 1st.

Summer Sounds or Summer Prep Strings August 1-5 or August 8-12, 2011.

Musicians  can do either one or both weeks.

Summer Sounds 9am to 3pm - 1 week - $350.00; 2 weeks - $670.00

Summer Prep Strings 9am to 12 noon - 1 week - $250; 2 weeks - $470.00

Both programs take place at Alderwood Manor Community Church

Which group is right for you?

You should register for Summer Sounds if

- You have played with an orchestra or band for at least 3 years

- You were part of Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra last year or a previous year

- Our Music Director has indicated that Summer Sounds is right for you

You should register for Prep Strings if

- You have played a stringed instrument for less than 2 years

- You will be in elementary school in the Fall

- Our Preparatory Strings director or Music Director has indicated that Preparatory Strings is right for you
