Sing-Along 'Sound of Music' Part of a Busy Day in Edmonds Next Saturday

In addition to the movie at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, the day will include Small Business Saturday and the annual tree-lighting ceremony.

Nov. 26 will be a busy day in downtown Edmonds.

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce will be participating in the second annual , which encourages shoppers to dedicate a portion of their holiday shopping to local independently owned small businesses.

Festivities will begin at 11 a.m., with a proclamation by Edmonds Mayor Mike Cooper at noon.

Also at noon is the debut of Sing-a-Long Sound of Music at the . The 1965 Oscar-winning movie starring Julie Andrews will be enhanced with on-screen lyrics for all of the well-known songs, inlcuding the title song, "My Favorite Things, "Do-Re-Mi," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" and "Edelweiss."

Costumes are encouraged, prizes will be awarded and everyone receives a goody bag for full audience participation.

At 4:30 p.m., the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce will officially kick off the holiday season in downtown Edmonds with the at Centennial Plaza.
