Surf Music on Menu at Main Street Burgers

The show on Jan. 21 is the first in a series of planned free live performances on the third Saturday of the month.

It was only a matter of time that —which sports a retro-cool 1962 and life-size sculpture of Elvis Presley—would bring music to the joint.

Since the restaurant is themed around the 1950s and 1960s, it only makes sense that the first musical act is the Seattle-based Orca Team, a 1960s post-punk, beach-party band. Surf music.

"Post-punk" and the "1960s" don't, on first glance, seemed to mesh too well, which the band acknowledges by saying it comes from the "confusing waters of the Pacific Northwest."

Orca Team, with Dwayne Cullen, Leif Anders and Jessica Baldouf, performs Jan. 21 from 5-8 p.m. Subsequent shows, which are all free, are on the third Saturday of the month. Main Street Burgers owner Joe Bellingham will also be spinning 1950s hits .
