In Edmonds: Cruise Ship Arrives, Just Frogs Having Open House to Celebrate

It will be colorful down by Puget Sound tonight.

Just Frogs & Friends Amphibian Center in Edmonds, which celebrated its three-year anniversary in September, has an open house today from 5-8 p.m.

Just Frogs is a nonprofit frog and turtle rescue center owned and operated by Thayer Cueter at 300 Admiral Way, Suite 104, which is by the Emonds fishing pier.

If you check out the open house, you'll be able to see the arrival of the Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship, which makes its annual departure from Edmonds at around 7 tonight.

In 2011 the City of Edmond's and Parks and Recreation made the financial decision and because of cutbacks dropped its support in hosting the arrival of the ships. Just Frogs Toads Too Amphibian Center is located adjacent to the pier, and in the arrival of guests and families has participated in the hosting for the last three years with the help of donations of cookies candy canes, cider and coffee.

This event is the only winter waterfront event Edmonds has to offer our local families. We are looking to seek other participants in making this a bigger and better event as we attempt to build our waterfront activities here in Edmonds. Weather permitting we've had 300-500 people show up.

We have also requested the presence of a Santa to meet and greet the children.

Sponsorship or donations-in kind (product) are all appreciated. We have volunteer staff to man the stations, but always welcome anyone that would like to help! Please contact Thayer Cueter at 206-618-7232 or e-mail justfrogs@gmail.com for further information on how you can support this event.
